Website delivery
Your browser sends technical request information to deliver pages and API responses. The repository’s web-server access-log configuration records request method, path, response status and duration. This does not establish every hosting or network provider’s logging practices.
Optional analytics
Optional analytics tools—including Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-M9S7TF8N4Q) and Google Tag Manager (container: GTM-5LPTNB3Z, delivering Yandex Metrica counter 113390786)—are used only after you explicitly accept analytics. These tools help us understand aggregate site usage, user interactions, and platform performance. When enabled, Yandex Metrica may record interaction metrics including click maps, link tracking, and Webvisor session-interaction measurement to evaluate site usability. Once enabled, your browser communicates with Google and Yandex servers and may store analytics cookies. Rejecting analytics keeps all tracking and tag loaders off; it does not prevent essential services described below from receiving requests.
Analytics retention
The current Google Analytics property is configured with 2-month event-data retention and 14-month user-data retention. These settings concern Google Analytics user- and event-level retention and should not be interpreted as a promise that every aggregated analytics report is deleted after those periods. Yandex Metrica data retention is governed by standard service parameters.
Your choice and browser storage
We remember acceptance or rejection in first-party localStorage on this browser. Use Cookie Settings at any time to change your choice. Withdrawal disables analytics, clears accessible GA cookies and reloads the page to unload the analytics runtime. It does not undo data already sent. If storage is unavailable, the choice applies to the current page session. Clearing site storage removes the saved choice.
Installed app and cache
The progressive web app uses a service worker and browser Cache Storage for static assets, icons and the app shell. API, JSON and page navigation requests are not cached by that service worker. These mechanisms support site functionality and are separate from optional analytics.
Other services and links
Google Fonts supplies typography when pages load. Map views use the bundled MapLibre library and request CARTO basemap tiles when the map is opened, including on a direct map-page visit. These requests expose technical connection information to the respective providers and are not controlled by the analytics preference. External source links contact their destination when followed.
Contact and secure communication
404TN is an independent Tunisian documentation and investigative initiative. For security reasons, the individual operating the initiative does not publish their personal identity or physical address on this website.
